Unifold PP Dust Jacket Sleeving
Unifold PP is our Australian-made dust jacket protection system for older, valuable and collectable books, using clear acid-free polypropylene film.
Designed for older and valuable books
Unifold PP combines a clear polypropylene film with a paper backing to form a protective sleeve around the dust jacket. Together, the film and paper enclose the jacket, helping protect it from handling, marks, tears and everyday wear.
Polypropylene is particularly suitable for older books because it does not bond or stick to book-cover finishes. This makes it a safer choice where the materials, coatings or condition of an older dust jacket may be uncertain.
The completed sleeve wraps around the book boards, holding the dust jacket securely in place without permanently changing the book.

Why choose polypropylene?
Does not bond to covers
Polypropylene has very little tendency to cling or bond to book-cover finishes, making it particularly suitable for older books.
Acid-free film
The clear polypropylene film is acid free, making it a suitable choice where long-term protection is important.
Fully removable
The sleeve can be removed without residue or evidence that it was ever fitted, preserving the original condition of the book.

Every roll of Unifold PP is manufactured on our premises in Australia. We take particular care with alignment, folding and finish, with quality checks throughout production.
Standard Unifold or Unifold Pro
Standard Unifold
Standard Unifold is secured using a small piece of tape applied to the Unifold itself. No adhesive attaches to the book or dust jacket.
Unifold Pro
Unifold Pro includes a self-adhesive strip along the paper backing. The strip attaches only to the Unifold paper, not to the book or dust jacket, removing the need for separate adhesive tape.
Choosing the correct roll width
Measure the height of the book and select Unifold that is the same height or slightly taller. You do not need to allow additional material for folding over the top and bottom edges.
For example, a book measuring 250 mm high is suited to 250 mm Unifold. A wider size can also be used for smaller books, so a 300 mm roll will cover books measuring 300 mm high or less.
How much will I need?
As a very rough guide, one metre of Unifold will cover approximately two average hardcover books. Actual usage will vary with book size and the amount of overlap required.
Unifold PVC or Unifold PP?
Both products protect the dust jacket without adhesive attaching to the book. The main difference is the type of clear film used.
When is Unifold PP the best choice?
Choose Unifold PP for older, valuable or collectable books where it is important that the covering film does not bond to the dust jacket. Its acid-free polypropylene film offers removable protection while helping preserve the original condition of the book.
