BookMate Book Covering System
Cover books faster, with smooth and consistent results. BookMate takes care of the most difficult stage of applying self-adhesive book covering.
Faster and more consistent adhesive covering
Developed primarily for school libraries, BookMate helps apply adhesive film smoothly across the front cover, spine and back cover of a book.
The built-in dispenser feeds the film while the backing paper is separated as you work. Once the outside of the book has been covered, the remaining film is folded around the edges by hand.
BookMate is designed mainly for paperbacks, but it can also be used with hardcover books and will accommodate most books commonly found in a library.

How BookMate works
Load a roll of adhesive covering into the integrated film dispenser. The film feeds from underneath the machine, and the backing paper is removed through the built-in separation slot.
Cut the film to the required length, position the book and guide it through the system. BookMate applies the covering smoothly across the entire outside cover.
The final top, bottom and inside edges are then trimmed and folded by hand.
Use it with any adhesive covering from our range
BookMate can be used with any of our adhesive book-covering products in widths up to 400 mm, including Plascote and SoftCote.
Silent, electricity-free operation
BookMate is purely mechanical, contains no motors and requires no power connection. It operates silently, making it ideal for libraries, workrooms and other quiet environments.
Ready to use and easy to store
BookMate arrives fully assembled and requires no permanent mounting. It weighs approximately 11 kg, and its working table folds down for more compact storage.
Safe, controlled operation
BookMate has no exposed cutting blades, dangerous pinch points, powered rollers or motorised mechanisms. The user remains in control and can work at a comfortable pace.You can stop halfway through processing a book with no issues.
As with any book covering method, a little practice and the correct technique will produce the best results. Our setup and operation video demonstrates the complete process.
Designed and assembled in Australia
BookMate was designed by The Book Cover Co and is assembled by us in our Bayswater workshop.
Every machine is personally assembled and checked before it leaves our workshop, ensuring that it is ready for use when it arrives.
Ten-year warranty
BookMate is built for long-term library use and is supplied with a ten-year warranty. We stand behind the quality of the machine and are available to help with setup, operation and ongoing support.
